Hi, I am Allan Rice

Let's get to know each other

Born in Boulder, Colorado, I left home at 17 to travel across Europe, drawn by its culture, architecture, and way of life. When I arrived in Barcelona, I immediately felt connected to the city and knew I had found a place that felt like home. Years later, I met my wife there, and together we moved to La Paz, where we got married and spent three years building our life before eventually returning to Barcelona, where I am now based.

Today, I work as a destination wedding and lifestyle photographer across Europe and Mexico, always available to travel wherever a story takes me.

My work blends documentary storytelling with an artistic and cinematic approach, focused on capturing real emotion, human connection, and the beauty of moments as they naturally unfold. I believe the most meaningful photographs are rarely the perfectly posed ones — they are the quiet in-between moments, the movement, the energy, the feeling you didn’t realize was being captured.

Over the past 14 years, I’ve photographed weddings and stories in places such as Spain, Mexico, The Philippines, France, Portugal, USA among other places always approaching each celebration with the understanding that no two stories are ever the same. Every couple has its own rhythm, personality, and way of loving, and my goal is to document that honestly.

A wedding is far more than an event. It is a moment that changes the course of your life. The photographs you take from that day should do more than simply show how everything looked — they should allow you to feel it all over again years later.

For me, trust and connection are an essential part of the process. I want my clients to feel comfortable enough to fully be themselves in front of the camera. That connection allows me to document people naturally, without forcing moments or creating something that doesn’t feel true to who they are.

That’s why I aim to create more than a photoshoot. I create an experience. Whether it’s wandering through hidden streets in Barcelona, exploring landscapes in Mexico, or discovering a completely new destination together, I want the experience to feel relaxed, meaningful, and real.

Having lived between the United States, Europe, and Mexico has deeply influenced the way I see people and relationships. Different cultures, places, and ways of connecting inspire the way I photograph, and naturally shaped my path as a destination photographer.

My approach throughout a wedding day is calm, observant, and intentional. I prefer to blend into the atmosphere rather than interrupt it, allowing moments to unfold naturally while documenting them with honesty and emotion.

At the end of it all, my goal is simple: to create timeless images that bring you back not only to how everything looked, but to how it truly felt to live it.
